Proton softens up faster than Neutron, so a Proton Wave starts turning over a little sooner in its life and settles into a flippier, more glide heavy flight after a season of use. It stays grippy and durable through that process, which is why more than a few players keep one Proton Wave around specifically because it has already broken in.

The Wave is basically a wider rimmed Inertia, faster and a touch longer without a big change in shape. Thrown flat it turns gently before fading back, and once it has some rounds on it, it will glide out and hold a turnover line longer than it did fresh out of the box. It takes real arm speed to open up properly, so this is a driver for intermediate and advanced throwers rather than someone just starting out.
