MVP Proton Wave
1
The MVP Wave in Proton plastic is a stable, wide rim distance driver that flies like a longer version of MVP’s Inertia with a bit more speed and a lot more wind resistance. It is the second driver in MVP’s high speed wide rim class, and the extra rim width is the whole story here.
Flight Numbers: 11 / 5 / -2 / 2
Proton is MVP’s translucent premium plastic, stiff and durable with a slicker out-of-the-sleeve feel than Neutron, and on a rim this wide that stiffness helps the disc hold its shape under a hard release. It resists softening longer than a standard plastic, so the stable flight this Wave ships with sticks around through plenty of rounds before it starts to loosen toward flippy.
It does not take much power to open this one up for an MVP disc, a moderate release gets a long, gliding turnover before the fade brings it home, and it holds up better in wind than a narrower disc at the same speed. Bigger arms get long, sweeping hyzer flips and tailwind bombs, while less powerful throwers will feel it fly closer to overstable until it beats in some. It is a strong pick for anyone who already likes the Inertia and wants a little extra distance out of the same shape.
Need a longer version of a driver you already throw? The Neutron Wave gives you the same shape in MVP’s standard durable plastic. Want it lighter with a touch more turn? The Fission Wave is the one to grab. Browse the rest of our stable distance drivers.
