Discraft ESP Avenger SS
8
The Discraft Avenger SS in ESP plastic is an understable distance driver built to turn over and hold that line rather than fight back with fade. ESP is Discraft's grippy premium blend, and on a rim this small it feels closer to a fairway driver in the hand than a 10 speed distance disc.
Flight Numbers: 10 / 5 / -3 / 1
ESP stays soft and tacky through a lot of rounds, so the grip does not disappear in cold or wet weather, and it takes tree hits without cracking. It beats in slower than Z Line, which means the strong turn you get fresh out of the box sticks around for a good while before the disc gets any easier to flip.
Thrown flat with real power it flips past flat and holds a long turnover line, and with enough arm speed behind it, it will roll rather than fly. Thrown on a hyzer with less power it flips up to flat and finishes with barely any fade, which is exactly the flight a newer player needs to learn a clean backhand release. Slower arms get a straight, honest flight out of it, while bigger arms use it for rollers and flex shots around obstacles.
Want a version that flexes a little more in the hand on release? The Discraft ESP FLX Avenger SS is the same flight in a bendier plastic. Prefer a firmer feel for the same understable shape? The Discraft Z Avenger SS is worth trying. See more of our understable distance drivers.
