Discraft Z Buzzz SS
1
The Discraft Buzzz SS in Elite Z plastic is a straighter, easier-turning cousin of the standard Buzzz, built off the same speed 5 midrange platform Discraft is famous for. The SS profile is a touch domier on top, and it gives up a little of the base Buzzz's overstability in exchange for an easier turnover.
Flight Numbers: 5 / 4 / -1 / 1
Z Line is Discraft's most durable plastic and it keeps this flight consistent for a long time, which matters on a disc meant to turn over predictably. It is firmer out of the wrapper than ESP, a little less grippy in wet grass, and it resists chunking on tree strikes better than any base line plastic Discraft sells.
Release it flat with any real speed and it drifts gently right before settling into a straight finish with a light fade. Put it on a hyzer and it wants to flatten out, which makes it an easy hyzer flip for players who have not built up the arm speed to flip a full stability driver. I hand this one to newer players learning their first controlled turnover shot, and to forehand throwers who want a midrange that will not fight them on release.
Want the beat-in version out of the box? A worn Buzzz SS Reaper Edition flies even flatter and turns a hair easier. Prefer a softer, grippier feel in the same flight? The Z Fly Dye Buzzz SS is the same disc in a different color run. Browse the full lineup of understable midranges.
