Prodigy D3 400
The Prodigy D3 400 is a stable distance driver built to cover open fairways with a lot of glide, and 400 plastic is Prodigy's grippy, long-wearing blend for it.
Flight Numbers: 12 / 6 / -2 / 2
400 plastic feels stiff and durable in the hand, holding grip through wet grass and cold mornings without turning slick. It takes a while to soften, and once it does the disc gets easier to turn over and more useful as a controlled turnover option. Compared to Prodigy's 400G line, standard 400 grips a little better but has less pop on a clean release.
This disc wants to fly flat and straight with a strong glide before settling into a gentle fade, which is the six glide rating doing the heavy lifting. It can be a touchy disc to learn on a backhand at first, since it rewards a flat release more than most fast drivers, but once you find that release it becomes a do-it-all driver for open holes. On a hyzer it holds the line well and does not flip early, and a beat-in copy turns over easily enough for a long hyzer flip turnover. Intermediate to advanced players get the most consistent results from it.
