Prodigy D2 Air
The Prodigy D2 Air is an overstable distance driver in Prodigy's lightweight Air plastic, one notch less overstable than the D1 with a bit more high speed turn and more glide.
Flight Numbers: 12 / 6 / -0.5 / 3
Air plastic trims weight without changing the shape or flex much from Prodigy's standard grades. A lighter D2 Air still carries the same flight profile as a heavier run, and it holds up to normal wear, though it will not survive years of tree strikes the way 750 plastic does.
This one has earned the nickname destroyer clone, and the big rim has a reasonable amount of tack and decent flex without feeling unbearable in the hand. One thrower who controls a Wraith to 400 feet or maxes it near 440 gets similar or better numbers out of the D2, so the extra glide translates into real distance on course.
Intermediate to advanced players who want a fast overstable driver without carrying maximum weight will get the most out of this run. It is workable enough to cover both a headwind tee shot and a wide-open bomb.
Chasing more distance? The Prodigy D2 400 gives you the same flight with more weight in your hand, and the Prodigy D2 500 holds that overstability the longest. See the full D2 collection.
