MVP Neutron Volt
4
The MVP Neutron Volt is a stable fairway driver that flies like a nicely worn-in Teebird, a Speed 8 hybrid with a slight turn and a fade you can count on. Neutron is the plastic that gets grabbed first when trying this mold.
Flight Numbers: 8 / 5 / -0.5 / 2
Neutron plastic is grippy and durable, and the Volt itself has a nearly flat profile with almost no dome, which makes for a comfortable grip on both forehand and backhand releases. It holds its stability well and does not flip over even when you put real speed on it.
Thrown flat it takes a small amount of turn before settling into a long, straight glide, then finishes with a soft, progressive fade rather than dumping hard. It carries well without much glide loss, so it holds a line through wind better than flippier fairway drivers.
Good for intermediate players looking for a dependable, straight-flying driver that will not surprise them. It is a solid pick for anyone replacing a beat-in Teebird or similar disc that has started turning over too much.
Want the same mold with more turn? The MVP Proton Volt uses a slicker plastic with a similar flight. Need more overstable for wind? The MVP Plasma Volt is the one to try. Browse our stable fairway drivers.
