The MVP Photon in Fission plastic is an overstable distance driver with a thick, sharp-edged rim, built for players who already have some driver speed to work with.

Fission grips well in any weather and takes hits without cracking, but the rim on this one runs thicker than most MVP drivers with sharper edges, so it takes a few rounds before it feels natural in the hand. Lighter Fission Photons in the 150s fly noticeably more overstable early on and loosen up nicely as they wear in.

With a little hyzer it flips flat, turns over some, and still finishes with a clean fade. The rim is smaller than most other 11 speed drivers, which suits smaller hands and forehand flex shots well, and it is easy to control once you know which weight you are throwing.

Good for intermediate to advanced players who already have some arm speed. This is not the easiest first distance driver for a beginner, but it rewards a controlled release.
