The Lone Star Discs Alpha Tumbleweed is an understable control driver that turns over easily, and it is one of the best rollers I have thrown straight out of the box with no beat-in required. Lone Star built this mold for players who need easy distance without a big arm.

Alpha is Lone Star's grippy, slightly gummy premium plastic, comparable in feel to other translucent premium blends but a touch softer in the hand. It takes a beating well and does not slip when the grass is wet, and it stays flippy through its whole life rather than settling down like an overstable disc would.

Thrown on a hyzer with a bit of height it catches a tailwind and rides out into a long, sweeping turnover that keeps going well past where most drivers would fade. On a flat release it turns hard right and holds that turn, which makes it a natural roller disc for anyone comfortable releasing low.

Slower arms and newer players get real distance out of this one because it does not need much power to reach its full flight. Bigger arms should treat it as a specialty turnover and roller disc rather than an everyday driver, since it will keep turning if you put too much speed on it.
