Discraft Z Swirl Buzzz (Ledgestone)
The Discraft Z Swirl Buzzz in this Ledgestone Wave 2 stamp puts a swirled color run on Discraft's firm, translucent Z plastic, the toughest version of the most common stable midrange in the sport.
Flight Numbers: 5 / 4 / -1 / 1
Z is less grippy than ESP but far more durable and slower to beat in, so the stable flight numbers on this Buzzz will barely move for years of throwing. The swirl only changes the color pattern, not the feel or the durability of the plastic underneath.
At a controlled backhand release it holds a straight line for most of a long flight before closing with a real, dependable fade, and inside 150 feet it turns into a floaty, slightly overstable approach disc that skips less than a putter but still finishes soft. On a hyzer it stays on hyzer, and into a headwind it will not turn over the way a lighter rimmed midrange might. It is the disc to reach for when you want a Buzzz that will not soften or change shape for a long time.
Want the same flight with a grippier feel in the hand? The Discraft ESP Buzzz trades a little durability for more tack. Want it even more overstable out of the box? The Discraft Z Buzzz OS starts stiffer than this one. Browse the whole stable midrange collection.
