Discraft Special Blend Luna (Reaper Edition)
1
The Discraft Special Blend Luna Reaper Edition carries our flaming vortex stamp on Paul McBeth's primary putter, the first disc in his Discraft signature line. Special Blend gives it a stiff, distinctive feel, the top plate reminds me of a Challenger and the bottom of a Roach.
Flight Numbers: 3 / 4 / 0 / 2
Special Blend runs slick straight out of the wrapper but wears into a genuinely grippy feel after a round or two of putting. It feels heavier in the hand than its actual weight, which helps it resist wind on a putt, and it sits shallower than something like a Discmania P2, which makes for a cleaner release for a lot of putting styles.
As a putter it flies very straight with a reliable fade as it slows down, handles C2 range putts with enough glide to get there, and holds up fine to a headwind putt without flipping. Push real torque into it as a throwing putter, though, and it will flip and turn over, so this is a circle putter first and a driving putter second. Beginners get a confidence building putt on any calm day, and it is the exact putter that helped build a 6 time world champion's short game.
