The Discraft Sting in ESP plastic is an understable fairway driver built to hyzer-flip easily, which makes it a common first driver for players just moving up from putters and midranges. ESP gives it a grippier feel than the Z Line version, at the cost of a little durability.

ESP is tacky and comfortable in the hand, similar to Innova's Star blend but with a bit more grip and a bit less long term durability. The 7 speed rim is shallow enough to feel good on both backhand and forehand releases, even for players with smaller hands.

Thrown at moderate power it flips up into a gentle S curve and holds a straight finish with almost no fade, which is exactly the flight a newer player needs to learn a controlled turnover. Push much past 300 feet with real speed behind it and it gets touchy, holding turn longer than expected before a soft fade at the very end. It is a good tunnel shot disc through the woods and a reliable roller when you need one, but big arms will eventually outgrow it as a primary driver.
