Discraft ESP Nuke
3
The Discraft Nuke in ESP plastic is one of the most popular overstable distance drivers on the shop floor, and it is the disc a whole generation of new players points to as the one that got them into the sport. It is fast, but it is also forgiving enough that you can build your whole game around it as your arm speed grows.
Flight Numbers: 13 / 5 / -1 / 3
ESP is grippy and tacky in the hand and holds a stable, overstable flight for a long stretch before it starts to soften. As it beats in over time the high speed turn opens up a little, which is when intermediate and advanced players start using it for hyzer flips and max distance shots instead of straight bombs.
Thrown flat with real speed it fades hard and predictably at the end, and the wide 2.5 cm rim makes it a comfortable forehand disc thanks to the flat top and shallow profile. Backhand throwers who are still building power get a reliable fade that tells them exactly where the disc is going to land, which is a big reason it works for beginners and advanced players at the same time. It does need real arm speed to fly its full line, so a very new player may find it fades out early.
Need even more fade at the end of the flight? The Discraft ESP Nuke OS is the meat hook version of this same mold. Prefer a firmer feel for the same overstable shape? The Discraft Z Nuke is worth comparing. See more in our Nuke collection.
