Discraft ESP Midnight Roach (Ledgestone)
The Discraft ESP Midnight Roach Ledgestone Edition is a stable putt and approach disc people often call the cheaper, more understable cousin of the Luna, dressed here in a sleek black Midnight ESP run as part of this year's Ledgestone Wave 3. It started life as Discraft's 2015 Ace Race disc and has been a bag staple ever since.
Flight Numbers: 2 / 4 / 0 / 1
Midnight ESP is grippy and durable, with the tacky feel that lets you trust a putt to actually grab the chains instead of clanking off. The black colorway hides scuffs well, and the plastic holds up to plenty of practice reps without going slick.
This disc flies true to whatever angle you release it on. Aim for the center of the chains and it holds that line, put a hyzer on it and it drops right where you aim, or bend an anhyzer putt around a tree when you need to avoid trouble. Thrown flat it is a straight flyer with just the slightest fade at the end, and it carries a touch more glide than a typical putting putter. Beginners get a confidence building, dead accurate putter, and more advanced players use it as a driving putter for maneuvering approach shots into tight pin positions.
Want the same mold in a softer, grippier premium plastic? The Jawbreaker Roach is the plastic most putting putters get compared to. Prefer an even softer feel for cold weather rounds? The Putter Line Soft Roach stays tacky when it is cold out. Browse the rest of our Roach collection.
