Discraft X Stratus
1
The Discraft Stratus in Elite-X plastic is the budget version of Discraft's most understable mid-range, built for beginners and slower arm speeds who need a disc that goes straight and far without much effort. It comes in both standard weights and a few ultralight options under 140 grams for kids or very light throwers.
Flight Numbers: 5 / 4 / -4 / 1
Elite-X is Discraft's mid-grade plastic, firmer and less grippy than ESP but far more durable than a bargain-bin base plastic. It has a thin rim that takes some getting used to, and it holds its heavy turn for a long time since X plastic beats in slowly.
Thrown flat by a slower arm it flies straight and carries a long way, which is why it shows up in so many beginner starter sets. Give it more speed and it turns over into a wide anhyzer or a full roller, and at reduced power it threads a narrow tunnel shot better than most drivers its size.
Good for new players who need an easy first mid-range, and for intermediate or advanced players who want a cheap, reliable turnover disc for tight, wooded shots. Anyone learning to throw a controlled roller should have one of these in the bag.
Want the same flight in a grippier premium plastic? The ESP Swirl Stratus is the one to try. Want way more stability from the same brand? The Z Buzzz sits at the other end of the shelf. Browse our Stratus collection.
