The Prodigy 400 D4 is an understable distance driver built for players graduating from fairway drivers, and 400 plastic is the grippy, durable blend most people throw it in.

400 plastic holds its grip in almost any weather and takes a long time to break in, so the flight numbers on this disc stay close to true for a long stretch of rounds. It is stiffer than Prodigy's premium 400G blend, and I like the extra pop off the rim on a clean release with that stiffer 400G blend, but 400 wins on raw grip when your hands are cold or wet.

Thrown flat this disc turns right through most of its flight and glides a long way before a soft fade brings it home, which is why intermediate players use it as their go-to when they need to cover ground without much power. On a hyzer it flips up quickly, so it works well as a turnover shot for a slower arm speed, and it holds an anhyzer line better than most discs this fast. A beat-in D4 turns over even easier, and I keep an older, beat-in one specifically for rollers.
