MVP Electron Spin
2
The MVP Electron Spin is an understable putter built deep like MVP's Ion and Anode, which gives it a lofted, glidey flight rather than the flat drop of a typical putter. It's the disc that finally fixed my push putt once I learned how to use it.
Flight Numbers: 2.5 / 4 / -2.5 / 0
Electron is MVP's grippy baseline blend, a little chalky and stiff at first but it wears in slowly and stays grippy even when wet. The deep, rounded rim feels different from a standard putter grip at first, it can take a round or two to adjust, but it settles into a comfortable hold.
Inside the circle it flies true and holds a straight line with almost no fade, which makes it excellent for push putts, low spin speed keeps it dead straight and accurate out to 30 or 40 feet. Push it further and the turn shows up, holding a reliable curve on tailwind and turnover shots rather than fighting back to center. It's a strong pick for anyone who struggles with a spin putt and wants a disc built specifically around a push release.
Want the same shape in a longer lasting plastic? The R2 Neutron Spin holds its stability much longer than Electron does. Looking for a similar understable putter from another brand? The Innova Galactic XT Xero is worth comparing. Browse our understable putters.
