The Discraft Z Fly Dye Nebula is a limited Ledgestone release of a mold Discraft first put out for the 2008 Ace Race, now in a one-of-a-kind fly dye finish over Elite Z plastic. In a lot of ways this was the original Buzzz OS, an overstable midrange built to hold its line when the wind picks up.

Z plastic keeps this disc firm and durable years after the fly dye colors fade a shade, holding its overstability far longer than a base plastic midrange would. It grips well in cold and wet conditions and takes contact with trees and cart paths without denting.

I use a disc like this straight into a headwind mid where a neutral midrange would get pushed around, or anytime I need a quicker finishing hook than a straight mid gives. It flies mostly straight through the front half of the flight before fading firmly, which makes it a good substitute for a Buzzz when you want the same feel with a bit less turn and a smaller diameter in hand. It suits intermediate players and up who already understand how to work an overstable midrange into a headwind approach.
