Discraft ESP Swirl Cicada (Ledgestone)
1
This Discraft Cicada is a Ledgestone Open run in ESP Swirl plastic, the same hyzer-flip control driver as the Titanium version but in a stiffer, more traditional feel with tournament color foil mixed through the plastic. It flies identically to any other Cicada once it is in the air.
Flight Numbers: 7 / 6 / -1 / 1
ESP Swirl carries the same grippy, tacky feel as standard ESP, just with the color run mixed all the way through rather than printed on top, so the swirl pattern never wears off. It holds its stable flight for a long stretch and takes real time to soften into anything more understable.
Release it on a hyzer with moderate power and it flips up to flat, then rides that straight line with only a light fade at the very end. Thrown flat with less power it holds a small turn the whole way, so it throws more like an oversized midrange than a fairway driver. It suits a beginner learning a clean hyzer flip just as well as an advanced player who wants a small, comfortable rim in the bag.
Prefer a stiffer plastic for the same hyzer-flip shape? The Discraft Titanium Cicada is a softer feel worth comparing. Want the standard ESP release without the swirl? The Discraft ESP Cicada flies the same. See more Ledgestone discs here.
