Discraft ESP Tour Series Swirl FLX Zone (Ledgestone 2022)
3
This Discraft Zone is a 2022 Ledgestone Open Tour Series run in ESP FLX plastic, a bendier take on Discraft's overstable approach disc with tournament foil colors mixed through the run. It flies just as overstable as any other Zone, just with a softer flex on release.
Flight Numbers: 4 / 3 / 0 / 3
ESP FLX has the same grippy feel as solid ESP with more give in the flight plate, which a lot of forehand throwers say helps the disc come out clean on a flick putt. It holds up fine to normal wear, though the stiffer standard ESP will outlast it over years of play.
Released flat it holds a straight line before finishing with a short, predictable fade, and on a hyzer it rides that hyzer the whole way through. It is very torque resistant, so a hard forehand or flick putt will not turn it over, and that makes it a reliable choice in a headwind approach from 30 or 40 feet. It suits an intermediate player who already trusts the Zone shape and wants the extra flex, more than a beginner picking a first putter.
Prefer the standard ESP Zone without the swirl? The Discraft ESP Zone flies the same without the flex. Want the same overstable flight with a different signature stamp? The Discraft ESP Zone (Adam Hammes) is worth a look. Browse more Ledgestone discs here.
