Discraft Z FLX Venom (Anthony Barela Tour Series)
The Discraft Venom in Z FLX plastic carries Anthony Barela's 2024 Tour Series stamp on Discraft's fastest overstable driver built specifically for headwind holes and forehand power.
Flight Numbers: 13 / 5 / 0 / 3
Z FLX is a translucent, Jawbreaker-colored blend, softer in hand than standard Elite Z but just as durable over a long season. It grips well even when conditions turn wet, and it will not lose its overstability the way base plastic eventually does.
Ripped flat with real power, the Venom hyzers into the ground almost immediately, which is exactly the point on a flex shot or an anhyzer line you want to hold. Some throws surprise you: it can turn over and bomb further than the numbers suggest before the fade kicks in hard at the end. Big arms and forehand throwers get the most out of it, and I keep one in the bag specifically for holes where the wind is coming straight at me and a lighter driver would blow off line. Slower arm speeds will just get a meathook out of it, not distance.
Throwing into wind a lot? Pair it with the ESP Venom Reaper Edition for a grippier version of the same numbers. Want a heavier, even more overstable feel? The Titanium Venom holds up to serious tree hits. Browse the whole Venom collection.
