Discraft Z Lite Cicada
The Discraft Z Lite Cicada is a stable fairway driver, or control driver if you prefer the newer name, made in a lightweight Z blend built to fly far on a lighter release.
Flight Numbers: 7 / 6 / -1 / 1
Z Lite is a lighter weight run of Discraft's firm, translucent Z plastic, less grippy than ESP but very durable and slow to beat in. Because it flies at lower weights, typically under 155 grams, the flight opens up more than a full weight Cicada would, gaining extra glide and a touch more turn for the same arm speed.
On a smooth, controlled release it flies dead straight for most of a fairway shot, and on a hyzer it flips up to flat before riding straight and closing with a small fade, a hyzer flip machine for anyone still learning to shape shots. Powered down and thrown flat it holds a long, controlled turn before settling, useful on a tight forehand line. A slower arm gets real distance out of the lighter weight, while a bigger arm still finds plenty of use for a smooth, controlled fairway shot.
Prefer Discraft's grippier standard plastic at full weight instead of a lighter run? The Discraft ESP Cicada flies the same flight with more tack in the hand. Want the toughest plastic in this mold? The Discraft Z Cicada holds up the longest. See the whole Cicada lineup.
