Lone Star Discs Bravo Mockingbird
The Lone Star Discs Bravo Mockingbird is an easy-turning fairway driver, and Bravo is the grippy premium plastic that gets picked up first. It flies flatter and longer than a typical seven speed and it has quickly become one of my favorites for wooded courses.
Flight Numbers: 7 / 5 / -2 / 1
Bravo feels close to other premium blends in the hand, tacky enough to hold on in wet weather and durable enough to survive a season of tree hits. It is sensitive to nose angle, so a flat release with the nose up will gain altitude and turn hard right, while a level release keeps it tracking true.
At full power it needs something close to full speed to show the -2 turn on the flight numbers, and once it gets there it holds that turn for most of the flight before a light finishing fade. It is sneaky long for a control driver and holds up well in a headwind once it settles into its line.
New players will get easy distance out of it at lower power, and players with more speed can shape long, sweeping turnover shots through gaps in the trees. It is a good pick for anyone replacing a beat-in fairway driver that has gone too flippy.
