Discraft Z Machete
1
The Discraft Machete in Z plastic is a low-profile, extremely overstable distance driver built to punch through wind rather than glide over it. It is known among forehand and overhand throwers as the disc that will not fold no matter how much torque you put on the release.
Flight Numbers: 11 / 4 / 0 / 4
Z plastic on the Machete is hard and stiff enough to survive being thrown at trees and cart paths without much to show for it. It holds its overstability for the life of the disc, so the hard fading flight you get on day one is the same flight you get years later, unlike a base plastic disc that softens toward straight over time.
Thrown on a hyzer it holds the line and powers through a headwind that would flip a less stable driver. On a flat release it fades hard and fast rather than gliding out, so it is not the disc for maximum distance, it is the disc for control when you need one exact shot. Forehand throwers use it for skip shots and rollers, and it is a favorite for tomahawk and thumber throws where other overstable drivers fold under the extra torque. This is an advanced player's utility disc more than a first driver.
