Discraft Midnight ESP Surge (Ledgestone)
The Discraft Midnight ESP Surge (Ledgestone) is a limited tournament run of one of Discraft's more underrated overstable distance drivers, pressed in a specialty ESP blend that will not come back once this batch is gone. The Surge has a smaller rim than most speed 11 drivers, which is part of why it has stayed in bags for over a decade.
Flight Numbers: 11 / 5 / -1 / 3
ESP grips well in wet and cold conditions and holds up to real power without cracking on tree hits. It is grippy enough for a forehand flick right out of the box, and the smaller rim means smaller hands are not fighting the disc just to get a clean release.
Thrown with real speed it holds a flat line further than the rim size suggests, then finishes with a smooth, controlled fade rather than a hard dump. Backhand or forehand, it is comfortable for both, and intermediate arms get a driver that goes the distance without needing a max speed release. It keeps going once it flattens out, which makes it a solid tailwind option and a driver that will still punch through a headwind on a hyzer release.
