Special Edition Discraft Big Z Comet
2
The Special Edition Discraft Big Z Comet pairs Discraft's understable Comet mold with the Infinite solar stamp, cast in Big Z, the toughest and shiniest plastic Discraft makes. The Comet sits between a midrange and an approach disc, with a speed low enough that it takes no big arm to control.
Flight Numbers: 4 / 5 / -2 / 1
Big Z is stiff, glossy, and about as durable as plastic gets in the Discraft line, with a shimmery swirl finish on every disc. It resists chunking on tree hits far better than base line ESP or X, and holds its flight numbers for years instead of beating in fast. That stiffness means a sloppy release shows up more, so a clean spin matters here.
Thrown flat the Comet holds a gentle turn before settling into a soft, late fade, and it is one of the easier discs for hyzer flips through a low ceiling since the low speed keeps it from flipping too far. On a dogleg right it turns over gracefully instead of skating past the target.
Good for a new player who wants a workhorse midrange that will not punish an imperfect release, and a useful utility disc for advanced players between a putter and a full midrange. Best shot: a low ceiling hyzer flip where you need the disc under the branches and turning back to center.
Want the same mold in a softer, grippier plastic? The Discraft ESP Comet beats in faster and feels better in cold weather. Prefer standard Z without the special stamp? The Discraft Z Comet gives you the same durability at a lower price. Browse the rest of our Comet collection.
